Yes, Mexico City has street food tours by bike, and they ride the leafy streets of Roma Norte and Condesa. Food Hood Tours’ Street Food Bike Tour Mexico City takes 4.5 hours for up to 10 riders, with the bike, helmet, food and drinks included, from $77 (checked November 2026). Why a bike

Illustration: a small group of cyclists in helmets riding slowly along a tree-lined avenue with a wide central walkway in Condesa, Mexico City, on a sunny morning, a guide at the front, Art Deco apartment buildings behind the trees

Roma Norte and Condesa are next to each other, and the walk between the two meeting points on the map below is 1.7 km. On foot, a taco tour stays in one neighbourhood. On a bike, a tour can take in both and still leave time to sit in a park between stops. The groups are small: up to 10 on Food Hood’s and El Taco Club’s rides, up to 8 on Foodhood’s Michelin taco ride.

The trade-off is traffic and attention: you are riding in a city, between courses, sometimes with a beer or mezcal in the mix. If you have not ridden in traffic for years, a walking tour in one neighbourhood is the calmer choice (the taco tour).

At night, and on your own

Food Hood Tours also runs a Night Street Food Bike Tour in Mexico City: four hours through Condesa, Roma and along Reforma for up to 8, with lights, food and drinks included. It runs from October to May only, because of the rainy season. Not for children under 14 or for vegans. Two more bike tours with food stops are Mexico City: Guided Bike Tour of Culture and Local Taste (Chilangadasbiketours) and The ultimate Mexico City E-Bike Tour with tacos and churros (electricbiketours).

Ecobici, the city’s public bike system, runs from 05:00 to 00:30 and allows trips of 45 minutes on every plan, for registered users (Ecobici, checked November 2026). Its published plan prices are marked as prices for residents of Mexico City, and Ecobici says a foreigner who buys a membership at the national price has it cancelled without a refund. Check what a visitor pays on Ecobici’s site or app before you rely on it.

For tacos after dark without a bike, see night street food tours.
