Mexico City Taco Tour

Taco tours in Mexico City compared: the Sherpa Taco Tour in Roma Norte, a Condesa taco walk and the Zocalo, where each starts, what you eat, prices.

Updated November 2026

For a first taco tour in Mexico City, take the Sherpa Food Tours Taco Tour in Roma Norte: two and a half hours on foot from Colima 76, regional tacos such as cochinita pibil and birria plus modern ones, and mezcal and beer at the end, all included. It is the 2.5-hour option of Mexico City: 8+ Dishes & Local Gems with Sherpa Food Tour, from $79 (checked November 2026). The tour’s other option, the 3.5-hour 10+ Tastings & Local Gems, is $99 (checked November 2026) and goes beyond tacos.

What you eat on the Taco Tour

Regional styles, such as cochinita pibil from Yucatan and birria, and inventive modern tacos, and the tour finishes with a mix of mezcal and beer. The route passes Plaza Luis Cabrera and the Pasaje Comercial El Parian, stops for a tasting at Tonala 171 and ends at Calle Queretaro 165, all in Roma Norte. All food and drinks are included; tips are not.

Vegetarian, lactose-free and gluten-free menus are available if you ask when you book. There is no vegan menu. If you eat no animal products at all, the vegan street food tour is the one built for you.

The longer option is a different afternoon: a barbacoa taco recognised by the Michelin Guide with a local beer, regional and farm-to-table dishes, and a meal inside a historic manor house, in three and a half hours. Take it if you want Mexican food in general rather than tacos in particular.
